Jean-Charles Sarrazin Biographie
Entre 1981, et 1990, Jean-Charles Sarrazin étudie la photographie et le design graphique à Paris (France), Hanoi (Vietnam), et Montréal (Canada).
C'est une rencontre marquante avec le poète et Ministre de la Culture vietnamien Cu Huy Cận l’incite à partir étudier un an au Vietnam en 1987.
Grâce à une bourse du ministère français des Affaires étrangères (La 1ère pour le Vietnam) , il rejoint l’Université de design graphique de Hanoi (Đại học Mỹ thuật Công Nghiệp), et fréquente les Beaux Arts (Mỹ Thuật Yết Kiêu). Dans les deux écoles, il se lie d’amitié avec de nombreux étudiants et professeurs. Il y découvre les techniques artistiques vietnamiennes, écrit, dessine, et photographie le pays avec passion.
Il revient régulièrement au Vietnam : En 2017, l'Institut Français l’invite à l'événement « La Nuit de la Lecture » pour présenter ses livres pour enfants en tant que « auteur et illustrateur » et, en 2019 pour la sortie de son livre « L’intelligence », inspiré d’un conte vietnamien"Trí khôn của ta đây.", en même temps qu’il participe au « THE 6ème HANOI ART CONNECTING INTERNATIONAL ART WORKSHOP & EXHIBITION » Hanoi Architectural University (HAU).
Ses livres jeunesse sont traduits en vietnamien dès 2020 par les éditions Nhã Nam, et en 2023, il réalise une exposition personnelle à l’Institut Français de Hanoï.
En 2025, ses photographies sont à l’honneur à la « Biennale de photo Hanoi 25’ », avec la publication d'un livre de photos: « HANOI 1987 » aux éditions Nhã Nam.

Tiểu sử Jean-Charles Sarrazin
Từ năm 1981 đến năm 1990, Jean-Charles Sarrazin theo học nhiếp ảnh và thiết kế đồ họa tại Paris, Hà Nội (Việt Nam), sau đó tại Montréal (Canada).
Một cuộc gặp gỡ quan trọng với nhà thơ Việt Nam và Bộ trưởng Bộ Văn hóa Cù Huy Cận đã truyền cảm hứng để ông dành một năm học tập tại Việt Nam năm 1987.
Nhờ học bổng của Bộ Ngoại giao Pháp, ông theo học tại Đại học Mỹ thuật Công Nghiệp Hà Nội (Đại học Mỹ thuật Công Nghiệp) và đồng thời tham gia các lớp học tại Trường Mỹ thuật Yết Kiêu (Mỹ Thuật Yết Kiêu).
Tại cả hai cơ sở, ông đã xây dựng những tình bạn bền chặt với nhiều sinh viên và giảng viên. Chính tại đây, ông khám phá các kỹ thuật nghệ thuật Việt Nam, đồng thời say mê viết, phác họa và chụp ảnh về đất nước này.
Ông thường xuyên trở lại Việt Nam. Năm 2017, Viện Pháp mời ông tham dự “La Nuit de la Lecture” để giới thiệu các sách thiếu nhi của mình với tư cách là “tác giả và họa sĩ minh họa”, và năm 2019 nhân dịp ra mắt cuốn sách “L’intelligence”, lấy cảm hứng từ truyện dân gian Việt Nam “Trí khôn của ta đây.”, đồng thời tham gia « THE 6TH HANOI ART CONNECTING INTERNATIONAL ART WORKSHOP & EXHIBITION » tại Hanoi Architectural University (HAU). Các sách thiếu nhi của ông bắt đầu được dịch sang tiếng Việt từ năm 2020 bởi Nhà xuất bản Nhã Nam. Năm 2023, ông tổ chức một triển lãm cá nhân tại Viện Pháp ở Hà Nội.
Năm 2025, các tác phẩm nhiếp ảnh của ông được vinh danh tại « The HANOI 25’ Photo Biennale », cùng với việc xuất bản cuốn “HANOI 1987” do Nhà xuất bản Nhã Nam phát hành.

Jean-Charles Sarrazin Biography
Between 1981 and 1990, Jean-Charles Sarrazin studied photography and graphic design in Paris, in Hanoi, Vietnam, and then in Montreal, Canada.
A significant encounter with Vietnamese poet and Minister of Culture Cu Huy Cận inspired him to spend a year studying in Vietnam in 1987.
Thanks to a scholarship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he joined the University of Industrial Fine Arts in Hanoi (Đại học Mỹ thuật Công Nghiệp) and also attended the Fine Arts School on Yết Kiêu Street (Mỹ Thuật Yết Kiêu).
At both institutions, he formed lasting friendships with many students and teachers. There, he discovered Vietnamese artistic techniques, and passionately wrote, sketched, and photographed the country.
He regularly returned to Vietnam: In 2017, the French Institute invited him to "La Nuit de la Lecture" to present his children's books as an "author and illustrator," and in 2019 for the release of his book "L’intelligence," inspired by a Vietnamese tale "Trí khôn của ta đây.", while participating in « THE 6TH HANOI ART CONNECTING INTERNATIONAL ART WORKSHOP & EXHIBITION » Hanoi Architectural University (HAU). His children's books began to be translated into Vietnamese in 2020 by Nhã Nam Publishing. In 2023, he held a solo exhibition at the Institut Français in Hanoi.
In 2025, his photographs were honored at the « The HANOI 25’ Photo Biennale », with the publication of a photos book "HANOI 1987" by Nhã Nam Publishing House.
